Remembering -series

On September 1st 1939 German forces invaded Poland, starting the greatest war ever known to man. 72,155,800 people lost their lives in this war. Most of them were civilians.

This series is dedicated to all these people who went through the horrors of war.

Never again.

This photo has the honor to start both the Remembering series and its first chapter which is shot in Normany.

On 6th June 1944 Allied forces started the greatest amphibious assault of all times. They faced fierce german resistance and both sides suffered horrible losses.

It isn't pointed out often that most of the soldiers on both sides were normal men. They had families like any other men. Many of them never saw their loved ones again.

Beaches we're red when the battle was over. Tears were falling.

These barbed wires on Utah beach are a monument for the suffering that took place there. The war left scars on these beaches and the hearts of men.

Today the beaches are silent. The contrast between this silence and its history is stunning.

I hope that you spend a while watching these views and think the value of peace.

Peace is something that isn't bought. It is earned.

Work for peace!
